Brady. Done.

The diagnosis of Tom Brady's injury is right in line with how it looks in this gruesome photo.

When this incident occurred, we were at the local bar. It is literally the closest drinking establishment in proximity to my apartment, and they popped for the football package this year. Additionally, they have a free buffet, which when that ran out they ordered pizzas for the whole bar. I bought one round, my roommate bought one round, and then we had beers being bought for us throughout the game. I spent exactly $9 bucks, and was able to ignore the idea that Pats Player Personnel honcho Scott Pioli might be trying to get Testaverde on the phone.

This was a better way to see Brady get knocked out for the season than say the Pats fan who watched it at home on a new flat screen that was purchased to go with the Sunday Ticket package they just dolled out $300 smackers for. Now they're left with the realization of being locked in a two-year contract with DirectTV, and satellite TV reception that teeters in the balance each time the wind picks up.

No matter how you saw it go down, the news is settling in for everyone this morning. I had the displeasure learning the final prognosis from the backpage of the horrendous NY Post. The eloquently worded headline: Yahoo! Brady Out For Year. (Of course, it comes on the day The Post announces that they endorse McCain for President)

After that, I changed my fantasy football team's name to Bernard Pollard, I'm planning to fly to Kansas City, break into your house, and rip your wife in half.

CHAD JOHNSON OFFICIALLY CHANGED HIS NAME TO OCHO CINCO!

The player formerly known as Chad Johnson...get used to that.

Today the Bengals announced this afternoon that they will now refer to the player formerly known as Chad Johnson as Chad Ocho Cinco, per his legal name change in Florida.

The decision was approved by the NFL office and the Bengals.

He will be listed as “Chad Ocho Cinco for all club business,” the club announced in a press release.

Oh, don't you worry. It'll say Ocho Cinco on the back of his jersey.

NYHoosier, thanks for the tip.

Peyton petitions for Football in the Olympics!

He thinks it's completely bogus that we can't throttle other countries on an Olympic gridiron.

Steady Burn Asks Chris Cooley...

Chris Cooley's blog and contributions to Yahoo! Sports blog Shutdown Corner are all the rage lately, and I'm sure many folks saw his interview on The Blog Show that was posted this morning.

Great interview by the way, check it out over at the DC Sports Bog or Mister Irrelevant...or anywhere else this nugget gets embedded.

Personally, I enjoyed it the most when he recommended Matt Leinart keep it on the down low in reference to Matt's partying ways

Keep It On the Down Low. Coined by Ronald Isley and R. KELL back in the early 90's I believe...

...

When asked about his smokin' hot fiance, and if the pictures of her in Maxim made him uncomfortable, Cooley alluded wanted to scream from the top of a mountain, but he didn't have a mountain he had Steinz and Mottram and a beta-max that he has more shots of her goods that he's trying needs because they're probably criminally babe-mastic to get clearance from his wifey to post on his own blog.

...umm, Chris Cooley has a totally awesome life.

Which prompted me to send him an email that read:

Subj: Hey Chris, if you could, would you be Usher?

Hey man - obviously a no-brainer for a johnny-working stiff like me, but you've got a pretty sweet life, so it's worth asking: If you could, would you be Usher?

Best,
Mike

...chew on it, and get back to me when you have the chance, Cooley.

Toss the Burner: April 22, 2007

A great interview by a great blogger - Zach at The Big Picture talks to the dastardly Christmas Ape, post-firing from the Washington Post.

Good to know he's still thriving. Also, I'm intrigued to hear more about the deal that Kissing Suzy Kolber inked. Like my man French says, this is America...either you make more money, or you're a f#$king douche bag.

I'm happy for them. KSK is my favorite blog, hands down. And they are unbridled in their dismantling of New England sports fans.

Speaking of which...Jodie at Gossip on Sports uncovered Darren McFadden's Yardbarker blog about his visit to the New England Patriots:

I went to New England last week and I loved their facility and their stadium. They are doing a lot of construction around it. They are building a mall and a hospital right there. If I get a chance to play there I will never have to leave (!!!). They said much of the building they are doing will keep all the noise in the stadium so game days will be especially loud. They are already great at home, that will just give them another advantage.

I really enjoyed meeting Coach Belichick. He told me about their team and their system and what they would expect of me. They are always looking for playmakers and that's what I am. I sat down with most of the offensive coaching staff and watched film. They also introduced me to Kevin Faulk. He's impressive, the way he studies, how he trains and how he carries himself. If I can duplicate the way he prepares I'll be doing just fine.

Forget what he says here. He would love to play in New England - fantastic, who wouldn't? Look at the tone, the sentence structure...it's rosy as hell!

There is no way this guy wrote that. Unless D-Mac is actually Kenneth the Page from 30 Rock.

Yardbarker, I'm on to you.

devastated.

Here he is. Your Super Bowl MVP. May god have mercy on your soul.

Seriously, I felt like I was rooting for the Spanish to overthrow the Mayan civilization all year, and part of me is glad it's over.

Actually, that's not true. Football is best. The fourth of July is essentially the half way point between now and next year's Super Bowl. Do you realize how long it is until the fourth of July!?!?

Inspired thoughts Word Vomit:
"It's gonna hurt worse tomorrow," some Eagles fan last night (oh sure, they've got a lot to be happy about today).
